You are looking southeast from the Audubon Center grounds (see map below) to the mouth of Richardson Bay, with San Francisco’s skyline in the distance.

During the months of October through March of each winter, the northernmost 900 acres of the bay waters are closed to boat traffic to prevent disturbance of migratory birds which use the bay for food and refuge.
